Replacement Services and Michigan Auto Accidents

PDF Print

If you are injured in an automobile accident and are unable to perform reasonably necessary services (i.e. mowing your lawn, laundry, cleaning, etc.), your insurance company will reimburse you an amount not exceeding $20.00 per day in having someone else perform those duties. This benefit is payable for up to but not exceeding 3 years. For instance, if the injury you sustained from the Michigan automobile accident prevents you from cooking, laundry, mowing your lawn, shoveling snow, cleaning house, cleaning dishes or whatever that is “ordinary and necessary services” that you would have done had you not been injured, then you will be reimbursed for paying someone else to perform those duties but not to exceed $20.00 per day. You need a doctor to write a prescription for replacement services. You need to have the person doing the replacement services keep track on a daily basis of what was done. Our firm gives our clients a specific form for replacement services.
