Confirm Long Term Disability Telephone Calls With a Letter

PDF Print

It is okay to speak to the adjuster assigned to your claim over the phone, but always follow up your phone call with a confirming letter. This letter should specifically detail the conversation that you had. I always try to do this when I speak with an adjuster. I always put in the letter: "If anything written is not correct, please contact me."   When you send the notice of your claim to your insurance company make sure to send it by registered mail, return receipt requested. Don’t give them an excuse to tell you that they never received notice of your claim or any other important information that you want them to have.
